I ordered something called a "swamp cooler" last week in anticipation of the heat this summer. Stand-alone AC units can run $600-$1000, so swamp coolers, which can run as low as $100, seemed like a good alternative.
My room might get a little muggy though. My roommate straightens her hair and seems concerned about the humidity seeping out from under my door.
